BHP Billiton
In October 2006, as part of an ongoing programme to consolidate its intellectual property portfolio in this area, Metalysis acquired BHP Billiton’s Polar™ process for the production of titanium.
The agreement saw BHP Billiton receive a minority stake in a new joint venture company, Metalysis Titanium Inc, which is exploiting the bulk titanium markets.

Rolls-Royce
In August 2006, Metalysis entered into a joint venture with Rolls-Royce Plc.
Rolls-Royce has agreed, as part of its offset programme in Malaysia, to provide funding for the scale-up of the process for the production of high purity tantalum powder in Malaysia. Metalysis has formed a Malaysian subsidiary, Metalysis Malaysia Sdn Bhd, which will carry out the work.
