BHP Billiton Plc.
In 2002, BHP commenced research into a similar technology, then known as the Polar process. In 2006, Metalysis acquired the Polar technology in a deal where BHP took a minority equity stake in the Company’s high volume titanium subsidiary, Metalysis Titanium Ltd. Since this date BHP have provided technical advice in support of its titanium activities and maintain their interest in the technology through a seat on Metalysis Titanium Ltd’s board.

Rolls-Royce Plc.
In 2005, as part of an engine sales campaign and under an international offset agreement, Rolls-Royce provided finance for Metalysis to develop its capacitor grade tantalum technology in Malaysia. This investment will provide Malaysian investors with an opportunity to finance the plant build and operation of a capacitor grade production facility in Malaysia.
